By train from Chicago
The South Shore Line runs from Millennium Station in downtown Chicago to Dune Park station (33 E US Highway 12, Chesterton), about three miles north of the Chesterton office. The trip takes roughly an hour to 80 minutes depending on the train; weekday service is about hourly. Plan a taxi or rideshare for the last three miles, and check the timetable for your return.
The Crown Point office is not on a rail line; plan to drive or use rideshare.

If you are traveling for surgery
Surgery takes place at a hospital or surgery center, not at the consultation office, and the care team confirms the facility, arrival time, and instructions when a procedure is scheduled. Many of Dr. Hobbs’s procedures are outpatient, but out-of-area patients should plan to stay nearby the night before and at least the first night after, and should not drive themselves home after anesthesia.
- Bring a companion who can drive and help during the first days of recovery.
- Ask the office how long after surgery you should remain in the area before a longer car trip or flight.
- Book a hotel with an elevator or ground-floor room and an in-room refrigerator for medications.
